Growing up in Clonmel our Dublin cousin was always known to me as Edward which explains why I could never get round to calling him Eamon..I think his mother..my aunt Mella...called him Edward too. In latter years..especially since his mum's death we kept in contact on and off. Then two years ago there was a delightful lunch with him and Thyra in Dublin...arranged by him. Rereading an email I got last year (with a dizzying account of exotic trips!) it was sad to see that they planned to come to Dublin last Sept when we looked forward to meeting again - unfortunately, lockdown put an end to that. Edward was such a gentle man in every sense....I will always remember him fondly.....may he rest in peace...Paddi S.
